Unimaginable Terror - Pure Evil Demo - Heavy and Fast

Artisit: Unimaginable Terror Label: Heavy And Fast Records Year: 2023

Let’s me preface this with a conflict of interest statement:

I have known the principal song writer for 20 years. I’m going to attempt to be unbiased.

Receiving this demo in the mail from trusted label and distribution, Heavy and Fast Records was the start of my excitement.

The demo haves belligerent and violent art work from an artist known in the metal community as Karl Dahmer. I know he’s worked with Traffic Death, a crossover band I covered last year.

Set aside the music the tangible product itself is impressive. From the full art work J-Card, to the windowless splatter cassette. All looks awesome and well thought out.

These aspects alone feels evil. It invites the listener into something dark and sinister. As the title suggests: “Pure Evil”

Lets get to the music.

For one this is death-grind in the vain of Mortician. I would contribute that to the array or sinister sound clips and pure brutality. However, there’s something very unique about the riffs and guitar playing.

The level of creativity and influences is almost unmeasurable. I hear things that sound like Vital Remains to Hate Eternal. However you’ll hear evil melodies and whammy pulls you would hear from bands like As Hope Dies or Fordirelifesake.

At the end of it all one thing is clear: this is to the cranium, blunt, brutal, death-metal.

I talked a bit about the guitar player but let me point out the drummer on this release. He has pulled so many creative rhythms and enhancements to make this demo as heavy as they come.

My only complaint? I want more! I would like to see them tasked with a  full length.

Hopefully that day is near!

For now this demo is available direct from the label. A few other labels carry it in their distro. IE: Life After Death Productions & Goat Throne Records.

I give this release 4/5 coffins

Hopefully more to come.

Conjureth -The Parasitic Chambers Cassette Review Rotted Life

Artist: Conjureth Label: Rotted Life Year: 2023

For starters: I love Rotted Life as a mail order record label. They provide fast shipping and prices are fair. Knowing this, I took a blind chance on a 2nd pressing of this here Conjureth cassette.

For one: the album blooms with a great sound clip that makes you question the existence of evil. Great!

The music itself is fast. The riffs blaze through you like an A.C. album. One after another it’s an onslaught of sonic evil riffs, blasting double bass kick, and the bass player keeps up!

Honestly, this is some great death thrash. I don’t know what I would compare it to... I would say more technical thrash bands along the lines of Vektor, and the speed of Kreator. There’s a lot of great momentum to love about this album, in terms of tenasity and tempo.
Picture
The song ‘A Blood Romance’ is the most cohesive song on the album ending in one of the most brutal moments. Overall the song is the most melodic, and I would prefer it if the band pursued this formula rather than a storm of riffs.

Overall this is a good album and fun to listen to.

3/5 coffins ⚰️ ⚰️⚰️
